•Prior to forming Mayfield Canencio Consulting with Carlos Canencio, Dave was, for 11 years, a project/program management executive with the Occupier Services platform of a global commercial real estate firm, both in Washington DC and in Houston. For the last 8 years in that position, he was the dedicated Project Management Account Lead for a Top 5 Technology firm, managing/overseeing 27 projects in South America, LATAM, and North America. He also was the PM Account Lead for Equifax, IHS/Markit, Sirius/XM Satellite Radio, andAVEVA Software. During his career, Dave was the senior project manager for technology, financial services, oil & gas, and law firm tenants throughout the US.
•Dave attended Washington & Lee University, Duke University, and Texas A&M University. Prior to moving into project management, he was Vice President of 3D/International; partner of Morris*AubryArchitects (including managing partner of M*A’s interiors group in Houston and Nashville), and one of four equity partners in ISD (and managing partner of ISD’s Houston office), at the time the second largest interiors firm (700 employees in Chicago, NYC, Houston, and Los Angeles) in the US.
•Dave is a detail-oriented leader/manager, builder of strategic stakeholder relationships, and respected mentor.
•Carlos, a Colombian native, is a graduate of Texas A&M University where he majored in Construction Science. For two summers, he worked for HITT Construction in Houston building out 20,000 sf in Amegy Tower in Houston, TX and 25,000 sf in 609 Main Street, Houston. During the summer between his sophomore and junior years, he was selected to participate in HITT’s Futures Program. He was chosen again to participate in HITT’s Futures Program between his junior and senior year, but the Pandemic prevented him from spending the summer at HITT’s headquarters in Falls Church, Virginia. During the Pandemic, he shadowed Dave Mayfield, Colliers PM Lead for their global Microsoft account, traveling to Microsoft construction sites throughout the US and LATAM, in addition to participating in all weekly TEAMS calls and monitored Meeting Minutes for red flags for the Account Lead. Carlos spent his academic-required Intern Semester as a Colliers Intern/Assistant Project Manager, continuing to work on the Microsoft Account, responsible for drafting Meeting Minutes, Preliminary Budgets and Schedules, and weekly Power Point presentations, and other project-related reports.
•During the Pandemic, Carlos also started AirSite LLC, a drone videography start-up company, focused on work for architects and general contractors. He developed the business plan, incorporated the business, and in his first year, generated over $40,000.00 in revenue. He continues to grow the business.
•Carlos moved to the US from Colombia when he was 7 years old; is bilingual; and has, at a young age, developed the knack for managing stakeholders, managing budgets and schedules and risks; and is extremely attentive to detail and follow-up.
